backed by government subsidy
A central government scheme that puts rooftop solar within reach of ordinary households — and Asawar Krishi Energy handles the whole process for you.

PM Surya Ghar — Subsidy Slabs
Households can receive up to 300 units of electricity free each month with a government-supported rooftop solar system.
| Monthly consumption | System capacity | Subsidy amount |
|---|---|---|
| 0 – 150 units | 1 – 2 kW | ₹30,000 – ₹60,000 |
| 150 – 300 units | 2 – 3 kW | ₹60,000 – ₹78,000 |
| Above 300 units | 3+ kW | ₹78,000 |
Central subsidy: ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, plus ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW — capped at ₹78,000. Bihar state subsidy of ₹10,000 per kW (maximum ₹20,000) may apply on top. Figures are indicative; we confirm what applies to you during the site survey.
What is PM Surya Ghar
Muft Bijli Yojana?
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a Government of India scheme that helps households install rooftop solar by covering a large share of the cost through a direct subsidy. The aim is to cut household electricity bills while adding clean generation capacity across the country.
For a typical home the subsidy covers a substantial part of the system cost, and the remaining amount is usually recovered through savings on your electricity bill. Asawar Krishi Energy handles the survey, sizing, paperwork, installation and commissioning.

Central and state
subsidy, combined
Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana the central subsidy is paid according to system size, and in Bihar a state subsidy may be claimed on top of it. Together they cover a large share of a typical rooftop installation.
- Central subsidy of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW
- A further ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW, capped at ₹78,000
- Bihar state subsidy of ₹10,000 per kW, capped at ₹20,000
- Maximum combined benefit of ₹98,000 at 3 kW and above
Scheme terms change from time to time. We confirm current eligibility and exact amounts during your free site survey.

On-Grid Solar System
Connected directly to the utility supply, with no batteries. Everything you generate either offsets what you are using or is exported to the grid through net metering. This is the configuration used for PM Surya Ghar rooftop installations.
- Lowest cost per kW installed
- Eligible for scheme subsidy
- Surplus exported through net metering
- Shuts down during an outage for safety
Off-Grid Solar System
A standalone system with battery storage and no reliance on the utility supply. Suited to remote fields, pump sets and locations where a grid connection is unreliable or unavailable.
- Runs independently of the grid
- Battery bank sized to your night load
- Ideal for remote pumps and rural sites
- Higher upfront cost due to storage

Hybrid Solar System
Grid-connected and battery-backed at the same time — you keep the economics of net metering while holding a reserve for outages.
The inverter runs your load from solar by day, tops up the battery, and switches over automatically when supply fails. Best where power cuts are frequent but a grid connection is available.

Best suited to
Worth the extra cost wherever an interruption is expensive.
- Homes with frequent power cuts
- Businesses that cannot stop work
- Farms needing assured pump running time
- Sites planning to add storage later
We size the battery around the loads you need to keep running, which keeps the cost sensible.
We follow a proven process on every solar project
Every installation runs through the same four stages — so you know what happens next, who is coming, and what is being checked before we hand the system over.

02 Initial Installation
03 Quality Control
04 Repair & monitoring

Answers to the questions
we hear most
Thinking about solar for your farm, home or business? Here are the questions we hear most from farmers and rural households across Bihar.
Savings depend on your land size, pump capacity and how much diesel or grid power you currently use. We start with a free site survey and give you a written estimate of expected savings and payback before you commit to anything.
Yes. Agricultural solar pumps and solar irrigation systems are a core part of what we do. We size the pump and array to your land, water requirement and cropping pattern so the system performs through the season.
We cover rooftop solar for homes and businesses, battery storage, solar lighting, and commercial installations. We also take on full Solar EPC projects and provide renewable-energy consultancy.
Panels keep generating in overcast conditions at reduced output. For power during outages we size battery storage into the design, which matters in areas where grid supply is irregular.
We offer solar financing support and consultation as part of our service. Eligibility and scheme details vary by applicant and change over time, so we walk you through what currently applies to your case during the site visit.
